Daniel Merriweather releases his new album “Love & War” this Monday, 1st June. It is no surprise that the combination of Merriweather’s voice and Mark Ronson’s production has already resulted in chart success with current single “Red”. Does this mean the album will live up to expectations? In a word, yes. Highlights of the album are definitely the two successive singles, “Changes” and “Red”, however, there is still plenty more for fans to be happy about with a 12 song album and not one track I would switch off. My only gripe would be that too many of them are just average. The album could do with one or two more stand out tracks. Overall though, this predominately R‘n’B album will most definitely get Merriweather the attention he deserves and he is without doubt one of the best male solo performers around at the moment.
